Cold-Formed Steel Structural Engineering (CFS)
Cold-formed steel (CFS) framing uses thin-gauge, roll-formed galvanized steel studs, joists and track to build load-bearing and non-load-bearing walls, floors and roofs. IDES Global provides complete CFS structural engineering — from gravity and lateral system design through panelized shop drawings ready for fabrication — for low- to mid-rise residential, commercial and light-industrial buildings.
Because CFS members are manufactured to precise tolerances, our designs deliver dimensional stability that wood framing can't match: no warping, shrinkage or long-term creep. Combined with CFS being non-combustible and resistant to termites and rot, it's a preferred system for multifamily, hospitality and mixed-use construction where speed of erection and long-term durability both matter.
